Kyiv region - is located on both sides of the Dnieper River in northern Ukraine. Kyiv oblast center is - the administrative center, which is a city of republican subordination and therefore represents a separate administrative entity Ukraine. The region covers an area of 28,131 km2. The population as of 2012 in the region of 1.7 million inhabitants. The climate in the region is temperate continental. Kyiv oblast was formed February 27, 1932. The region consists of 25 districts. The oblast - 28.4 sq.km. (4.7% of Ukraine). Bordered by Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Poltava, Chernigov region, as well as the Gomel region of Belarus. Today Kyiv region - is one of the most developed industrial-agrarian regions of Ukraine. The basis of the industrial potential of the region is 369 companies.
