Verkhovyna - district center of Ivano-Frankivsk region. In 1962, the village had a different name - Zhab'ye. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1424 year. In the regional center - 120 km. The city has a river Black Cheremosh. Number of residents - about six thousand.
