Galich - district center of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The first written mention of the city dates from the year 898, when the city was the center of Galicia-Volyn principality. In 1367 the city received Magdeburg rights.
The population is about 6.5 thousand people. In the regional center - about 25 km. Through the city flows the river Dniester.
The city is the National Reserve "Ancient Halych".
