Monument to the Scuttled Ships - a monument in Sevastopol installed on an artificial island, composed of processed granite rough blocks, at a distance of ten meters from the beach on the Promenade, one of the most prominent symbols of the city. Built in 1905, the authors of the monument - Estonian sculptor Amandus Heinrich Adamson, architect Valentin Avgustovich Feldman and military engineer Oscar I. Enberg.
During the defense of Sevastopol in 1941-1942 years the monument was damaged. The explosion of magnetic mines 22 June 1941 half the basement was destroyed, killed the eagle and wings of the capitals, the monument could at any moment collapse. In 1951 Kiev Scientific-restoration workshops completed monument restoration (restoration project by architect L. Schaeffer). In the years 1955-1959 were carried out restoration work.
