Dnipropetrovsk region - a region in eastern Ukraine. Founded February 27, 1932. Located in the middle and lower reaches of the Dnieper. It has borders with Poltava and Kharkiv region in the east - from Donetsk, in the south - from Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions and the West - with Mykolayiv and Kirovohrad. Settling Dnipropetrovsk region have yet to Paleolithic times. The results of archaeological research began settling here around 100 thousand years ago. The climate is temperate continental. The area is divided into 22 administrative regions. For the region is characterized by a high level of urbanization. The population of the region is 3 million 422.9 thousand people. Dnipropetrovsk region - one of the largest industrial regions of Ukraine. The structure of the regional industry are heavy industry.
