Mykolaiv region - a region that is located in southern Ukraine on the Black Sea Lowland in the South Bug River Basin in the north and extends Podolsky Dnieper Upland. Center area is the city of Nikolaev. In 1932 the area was part of the Odessa region. Independently region was formed September 22, 1937.
