Pershemy settlers were Swiss immigrants, a place they called "Asha-Abaga" (first mentioned 1788r), translated from the Turkish "Lower Gardens." Gardens in those days was called the land planted with vineyards. Later, the village acquired the name "Shabah" due to the difficulty of pronunciation previous titles, and eventually "Shabo" in the French manner. The first grape vines were brought back the same Swiss immigrants. The founder of the colony was Louis Vincent Tardan.

Unique vineyards that they at one time almost the only ones in the whole Europe experienced a "grape plague." In our time there and still grow grapes and make fine wine (company "Shabo").
