Pyriatyn - this ancient city center pyriatyn district, located in the Zaporozhye region of Ukraine. The city lies on the River Uday in the west region.
The city was founded back in 1154 as a fortified city. Magdeburg Law Pyriatyn received February 9, 1592. In Pyryatyn home to over 16,000 people (according to the census of 1 January 2011). Area - 72.28 sq. km. Climate - temperate continental physiographic city lies in the steppe zone.
Pyriatyn famous by the movie "Queen of gas." It is conducted surveys of the legendary Soviet film. Roadside Tower, familiar to all of the films remained to this day.
In Pyryatyn preserved several historic buildings (XIX-XX centuries), but the main decoration of the city - is the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin, built in 1781 with elements of Ukrainian Baroque.
