Kahovka - district center Kahovsky district, Kherson region. The city is situated on the left bank Dnepr. Population reaches 38 thousand inhabitants.
In written sources Kahovka first mentioned in 1492. Then on the modern city was an Islamic fortress, which was later destroyed by the troops of Ivan Mazepa (1695). The modern city was founded in 1791 Dmitry Kulikovskikh.
The city is a historical museum.
The most famous landmark is the monument "Legendary Tachanka" and a monument to "The Girl in uniform."
Every year there Kahovka "Hit Non" - one of the largest and most famous music festivals in Ukraine.
