Vatutine - a city in Cherkasy Oblast regional subordination. The city lies far from the regional center at a distance of 86 km. 
Population reaches 18 thousand inhabitants. 
It was founded in 1947 in connection with the development of deposits of brown coal. The name of the city derives from the name of the commander Nikolai Vatutin. 
Through the city flows the river Shpolka.
Vatutine a historical museum.
Landmark is the city park, which is also the monument of landscape architecture.
