Kebir-Jami was built in 1508. It is considered the oldest building in the city, its architectural monuments.
Originally the mosque was called Ak-Mosque which means 'white mosque' because the walls of the building were completely white and the present name "Kebir-Jami" means "cathedral".
In 1936 there was a fire that destroyed a mosque. It has been restored, but changed its original appearance.
Yet inside you can see the restored ornaments, Arabic paintings and mehrab.
The mosque is still in operation. It is open to tourists that the door should definitely take your shoes off.
