Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (Zaporizhzhya NPP) is situated in the steppe zone of Ukraine on the shore Kahovsky reservoir. It is the largest in Europe and the Ukraine nuclear power plant. A decision on its construction was adopted in 1978

Now ZAES - modern high-tech enterprise, powerful supplier of electricity in Ukraine.

Each year the plant generates 40-42 billion kWh of electricity, accounting for one fifth of total annual electricity production in the country and half of its production at Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

Important evidence of the high level of Zaporizhzhya NPP operation and commitment of its staff safety principles were positive conclusions mission OSART IAEA in 2004 and post-mission OSART - in 2006, WANO peer review - in 2007
