Luhansk. Vacation
Establishment Lugansk associated with signing Catherine order to build Ironworks on the River Luhan, in 1795, due to the need to strengthen the Black Sea Fleet during the Russo-Turkish War. The plant was built 10 years. In 1882 Lugansk was granted city status. January 5, 1970 Lugansk was renamed Voloshylohrad, April 4, 1990 Luhansk back its historical name.
Today the city has about 431 thousand inhabitants, which is one fifth of the total population.
Lugansk linked to many cities of Ukraine and Russia, automotive, and aerospace zaliznychnnymy ways.
The city has three theaters, a philharmonic orchestra, circus, 5 state museums, Ukraine's only municipal orchestra.
It will be interesting to visit several events that take place in the city annually. These are:
"Feast of Muses" - International Singing Competition and Piano (held since 1998)
"Slobozhanskyi saved" - an annual folk-song festival.
Famous Lugansk: G. Kuzmin - the first official world champion chess player on the compilation tasks;
Valentine Zakoretska - the first woman in the world - parachutist, her name has been entered in the Guinness Book of Records; Coastal Gregory T. - cosmonaut; Pakhmutova Alexander M. - composer.
