The building of the Odessa Art Museum was built between 1823 and the year 1826 by the famous architect F. Boffo. First it was the owner of Countess AS Potocki in marriage Naryshkin.

In 1888 the building was purchased and donated to the city for the device it public museum Mayor G. Marazli. Museum was opened on October 24 (November 6) in 1899 and the beginning of the museum collection paved the pictures transferred Petersburg Academy of Arts.

A collection of native art of the Odessa Art Museum -

One of the most significant and multifaceted in Ukraine. It covers all art forms: painting, drawing, sculpture, decorative arts and includes works by Russian and Ukrainian artists iconography from the XVI century to the present, counting more than 10,000 original works.
