Built on the site of the old bishop's palace in the 1864-1882 biennium is currently located central building of Chernivtsi National University of handicrafts. Metropolitan's residence was through the efforts of Bishop Eugene Gakman. In 1863 he won the Austrian Emperor permission for the construction of a new spacious residence worthy of the capital of Bukovina. The following year, Bishop Hakman has laid the foundation stone of the future residence.Be sure to visit:
