Dunaiv- a village in Ukraine, Peremyshliany district, Lviv region. Located 26 km from the district center, 41 km from the railway station Zolocev, stations of regional importance.The population of the village is about 700 people.

As the etymology of the city identified two versions of the origin of the village. The first is that the name of the village comes from the word "Danube" - translated means a place where bottled water or have a lot of water.The second version is related to the fact that the name of the village is derived from the name of the governor of the Danube, which served to Prince Vladimir Vladimir Vasilyevich.

The first written reference dates from - July 15, 1386. King of Russia Vladislav Opolchyk his letter published in Lyubovli, gave the village an everlasting possession Shlyakhtich Denhartu.

Dunaiv also known for staying on their territory Gregory Sanotska - one of the most famous Renaissance humanists. Accordingly, in his palace in the Danube organized cultural center where the elite gathered from all over Europe.
