Museum - one of the youngest in the Carpathian region - was founded in 1998 where the department of nature, history, ethnography and sacred art. New page of the museum began in September 2003, when due to the well-known charitable foundation Tatiana and Emelyana Antonovych (USA) received the newly built museum building. The grand opening of the new museum was September 5, 2003 and was dedicated the first World Boyky festival in the Carpathian Mountains.
