Hoshiv Monastery - the current Greek Catholic monastery in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, one of the largest centers of pilgrimage in the Carpathian region. Hoshivskyy monastery stands on a large hill called clear about the mountain village Hoshiv. It has a beautiful view.

     Hoshivskyy monastery is also called Hoshivskyy Basilian Monastery. This monastery of Basilian Fathers - Catholic religious order that worships St. Basil the Great. The name of this saint is called Basilian churches and monasteries.

     The first church in Hoshiv appeared in 1570 and was located in a valley at the foot of this monastery. It was made of wood and burned in an attack Tatars. The new monastery was decided to build on a hill. After some time at Jasna Gora, a new temple. In 1842, a few wooden monastery buildings were replaced by a more durable stone and pobudovaly new, including the tower and Transfiguration Church. In 1950 the monastery was closed Hoshiv.
