Reservoir on the river Kolodnytsa was built in 1966.Stebnykivske reservoir is located on the balance sheet of LLC Stebnykvodokanal.
The main task of the reservoir was seasonal regulation of the river flow Kolodnytsa for the purposes of drinking water supply Stebnykivskohopotash plant. After the cessation of work and bankruptcy chemical enterprise reservoir is used for drinking water supply nearby settlements: m.Stebnyk, s.Kolpets, C. Stanylya,secondary users in the future m Truskavets.
Type of regulation of the flow is seasonal.
It is subordinate to the LLC "Stebnykvodokanal".
