The museum consists of two units: the main room of the museum (Freedom Square, 5) and showrooms in Brody Castle (St. Shkilna, 13). The museum is located in a former Monastery sisters zhalibnyts (XVIII cent.). From 1866 to 1918 in this room sat imperial-royal county Starostvo Austro-Hungarian Empire during the Soviet-Polish War of 1920 - the Bolshevik headquarters of the First Cavalry Army in the interwar period (1920-1939) - Polish county government. After the war, the house belonged to the Soviet punitive organs MGB, and later housed the district is printing. Since 1979, the building was given for the installation of the museum. In September 1984 the celebration of the 900th anniversary of the first written mention of the opening Brody Brody museum.
