Reservoir on the river Szczyrk (the basin of the Dniester river) was built in 1949.Schyrets'ka reservoir is on the balance of Lvivska CHP-1.
The main purpose of reservoir flow regulation r.Schyrka and filling systems of technical water supply of Lviv thermal power plants and other enterprises. Simultaneously the reservoir is used as a recreation area, as well as for Amateur fishing and recreation.
