Arboretum of the Botanical garden of the Lviv forestry Institute (national forestry engineering University of Ukraine is included into the International Union of Botanical gardens. In 1991 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has provided Park status of the State Botanical garden.

This Botanical garden is located between the street Chuprynky (previously Pushkin) and Natural lands the area of 10.8 ha

History of the Park has more than half a century. It was opened almost simultaneously with the Foundation of forest technical Institute in 1954.

Today the territory of the Park is a flower collection-training plot, a small research nursery. On the lands of the Park are also administrative and three educational buildings, a library, a Museum of wood, gymnasium, medical center, cafes and dining room, a hostel, as well as other buildings.

Botanical garden provides the educational process here is conducted the work on conservation and acclimatization of rare, valuable and endangered plant species. Thanks to the hard work of botanists it grows about 200 kinds and forms of woody and shrub vegetation.
