Lviv Museum of religion history was founded in 1973. Its collections comprise more than 50 thousand units.

In the Museum you can see and discover the library of religious profile, which is unique in the country does not exist. A large part of the book Fund is dedicated to the books in foreign languages (200 - English; 2000 - French; 2000 - German; 1500 - Latin; 3000 - Polish and others)

The library has a rare collection of old books (300 copies) for 826-1910's.

In addition, the Fund presents the publications of religious organizations Galicia 20-30-ies, as well as Croatian-Czech periodicals that same period. The library collection contains unique collections of Bibles in different languages: Greek, Latin, German, French, Chinese, English etc. Library contains a small, but only in Ukraine valuable collection of Arabic 16-20 centuries, Korans, theological treatises, calendars, and also works of religious figures in Persian, Turkish languages and Sanskrit.

The Museum has three branches: 1980 created Chervonograd branch, 1991 - Sokalsky branch «People. Earth. Universe», 1993 - Institute of religious studies. Is created the Museum of Jewish studies.
