Yavoriv - the regional center of the same district, Lviv region. Located in the northwestern part of the region, 50 km. from the city of Lviv, the river Shklo. Population settlement of 12,948 people, the area - 23.35 km. square. In Yavorov has its own railway station, the city has a bus and regional center, neighboring counties and several border cities of Poland.
The date of foundation is Yavorov June 24, 1376. July 2, 1569 the city received Magdeburg rights. In support of Bogdan Khmelnitsky in the national liberation struggle in 1648 yavorivtsiv dozen were executed, and the city imposed a contribution. Residents of the city participated in the Ukrainian liberation movement of the 1st half of the twentieth century - in creating ZUNR (1918), fought in the ranks of UGA, UPA.
With independence in earned two museums resumed historical and ethnographic museum "Yavorivshchyna" (2002) and began operations mansion-museum writer Osip Makovey (1992).
