Zalishchyky administrative center Zalishchytsk district located on the left bank of the Dniester River for 125 km from Ternopil. It is home to 10 million people. Until 1939, it was the center of the wine. Every year Zalishchyky performed traditional holiday, "Vynobrannya" for which came from all over what was then Poland. In addition, the city is famous as a climatic resort with beautiful beaches on the Dniester.
The first written mention of Zalishchyky dates from 1340, but the name of the town was recorded only in 1578. Mandeburzke right was obtained in 1766 During the Commonwealth Zalishchyky became the property tycoons Lubomirski. The city was famous for all skirts wonderful folk artists: carpet, potters, woodcarvers. In 1763 built church of St. Stanislaus. After creating the Western Ukrainian People's Republic in November 1918, many residents went to serve the Ukrainian Galician Army. In early June 1919 Zalishchyky a few days became the capital of the Western Ukrainian People's Republic.
After passing Zalishchyky strategic highway Brest-Odessa, there are direct train connections to Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odessa, Kyiv, Moscow, Sofia, Moldova, Russia, Poland, Bulgaria and other countries.
To places worth visiting, belongs Church of St. Stanislaus (1763), Church of the Intercession Ave. Mary (1873), the Royal Military Barracks (XVIII centuries). Palace barons Brunitskyh (rebuilt in 1831 in the Empire style of hunting palatsyk) House of the Polish Society "Falcon" (1903), "People's House" (1908); House starostvo and trial. It also created a beautiful old park protected by the Dniester River (Lower Park), where increases of more than 400 unique trees more than 40 species.
