Dead Lake in Dubina

Crane lake (another name for the Dead lake is a popular object for tourism, mountain lake in the Ukrainian Carpathians (array of skolivski Beskydy).

Situated within Skole district, Lviv region, on the South-East from the village Dubina, on territory of National nature Park «skolivski Beskydy».

Lake irregular oval shape, with a length of approx 50 M. the Water is clear, but through the great richness of hydrogen sulfide in it no higher living organisms. Many wetlands (oligotrophic, sphagnum bog).

On the shores grow valuable and rare plants: cranberry marsh (hence the name of the lake), cotton-grass vaginal, sedge marsh, sundew (Drosera rotundifolia, etc. Around the lake is growing spruce-fir forest, there are nevelik rocks.

Among the animals - mainly amphibians: newts (Carpathian, mountain), frogs (frog), lizards. Also there are a Viper.
